New Instagram Updates for Healthcare Social Media Marketing
Instagram is constantly rolling out new features. Instagram stated, “Our features help you express yourself and connect with the people you love.” In healthcare social media marketing, these new features will allow you to bring your healthcare brand to life.
Let’s review a few new features that will unlock creativity and allow you to connect better with current and new followers.
Instagram In-App Scheduler
Of all the new updates, this is the most exciting. Instagram announced it’s rolling out a new in-app post-scheduling tool to professional accounts. This new feature will allow you to schedule a picture, carousel, or Reel up to 75 days in advance. If you are a social media manager, the new update will be a game-changer for you in 2023!
To. use this feature, you’ll follow these quick steps:
Create a post or Reel.
On the screen with Share, scroll to the bottom and tap “Advanced settings.”
Then, you’ll see a new “Schedule this post” toggle.
After you have selected the new option, you will be able to select the time and date you want the post to go live. You can schedule post up to 75 days in advance.
You’ll then go back to the Instagram post and tap “schedule.”
Creators and businesses will be able to see scheduled posts in the “Scheduled Content” section that will be available to see in the hamburger menu.
You’ll also be able to reschedule content if needed.
Instagram Notes
Notes is a new way to share your thoughts and see what your friends are up to in the Inbox section of Instagram. Notes are short blurbs of up to 60 characters using text and emojis. A fun and new way to connect with followers.
How to leave notes:
Go to the top of your Inbox
Tap the profile circle with the plus sign
Type out a quick, casual, and spontaneous thought and click Share
The Note will appear at the top of the Inbox for 24 hours
Other accounts can see your Note and reply with a message
Replies to your Note will arrive as DMs in your Inbox
Multiple Bio LInks for Your Instagram profile
Instagram is expanding access to a new option that enables creators to add multiple links to their bio, giving followers access to their other profiles. Over the past few weeks, profiles have been showing a primary link with + and a number representing other links that can be selected. Social Media Today shared a link where Meta confirmed to Business Insider that it is running public tests for its link-in-bio expansion.
To check if you have the new feature available, go to your Instagram bio, select edit bio, and click Links. Clicking Links opens a menu where you can add multiple links.
Instagram In-Feed Post Music
Did you know that you can add music to your in-feed post? Finally, now you can add up to 90 seconds of music to your in-feed photo posts. Steps to do this are pretty simple.
Create a post
Before you hit Share, scroll down a bit.
You’ll see “Add Music”
Search for the song or artist, then tap to add to the post.
You can select the portion of the song you like, just like on Stories and Reels. The duration can be from 15-90 seconds.
Once you’ve selected the portion of the song you like, click Done and Share!
Instagram Profile Music
Instagram users are reporting that you’ll be able to add music to your profile. Hootesuite shared that Tech Leaker, Allessandro Paluzzi, tweeted, “Instagram is working on the ability to add a song to your profile.”
There’s no word on when this feature will be available, so you have time to decide what song best fits your Instagram personality.
